I changing my baby one time per night. I feel more comfortable and my baby is not even waking up.
I discovered dog pads. Instead of buying baby changing pads that are about $30 for 10, you can buy the same pads for potty training dogs for about $20 for a pack of 100.
Diaper is one of the worst things they develop

Bath time stuff is so great!
For boys, you can put a diaper underneath the previous one, then as you remove, cover with the new one. But, I prefer to pull two wipes. I cover with one and wipe with the other around the area, get the new diaper situated, and then finish the little bit with the wipe and strap the diaper. The NICU was super handy in learning some great techniques and practicing before bringing my son home.
It not just baby boys who do this, I tought girls had more a tendancy to do this as the vulva cover a much larger body surface; they feel it more. And always clean from front to back ;-p

This is weird about diapers, I like some other tips though. Newborns actually show and communicate their need to go a lot of the times aka elimination communication. I have done it with two children now and they definitely communicate their needs.

They donโt get rashes with cloth diapers
Tip #2 applies to baby girls too. They donโt arc as much, but my girl peed on the changing mat or directly into the fresh diaper so many times before I started doing this.
