Girls pee too when the cool air hits them (or a cool wipe). I wasn't expecting this until I found out first hand.
I've found those tiny mittens useless and use socks on their hands instead. They stay on much better and keep babies face scratch free.
Also, not every baby likes to be swaddled. My tip would be to experiment until you get it right. Try the full body swaddle, or the torso and legs only (some babies find comfort in having their hands at their face), or perhaps its a sleep sack that works best!

Bath tip. Bath them with a Muslin baby blanket. Dip it in the warm water, wrap it around them then put them in the baby bath. Made bath time time sooooo enjoyable for both my girls

A tip other moms shared with me 15+ years ago with my first: Don't try to clip your baby's nails with clippers or scissors. You can accidently hurt them, which will make you cry. Plus, it can leave sharp points that will scratch them. Their nails are so soft you can gently bite the nail off clean and smooth. Since it is a one handed job this way, I always trimmed their nails while breastfeeding. Trim the hand that is free with the first side, and then trim the next when I switch sides. Saved me time and no struggle.

Interesting tip number 1 has been a basic practice in Zambia since forever… we used a lot of cloth diapers and wipes weren't common

I’m 42 years old and a first time mom. I watched your video before delivery and was able to prepare diaper stations throughout my house! Thank you! He’s 3 weeks old now and I’m watching again because I seem to be constantly changing him, when he pees I’m having to change his diaper, his outfit and whatever he was laying on at the time! Your video is so helpful!

When changing a baby boy, run a wet wipe across his front below the diaper waistband before opening the dirty diaper and wait a little bit before opening it to change. The cold wipe will cause him to pee if he's got anything in there 😅

Invest in a good baby carrier. It's so helpful especially when out and about. You can often by a gently used version on Ebay or Facebook marketplace at affordable prices.

Ergo baby organic is my go to but they also make one called Ergo Embrace that is especially designed for little babies.
